A PARK, NOT A CONSTRUCTION SITE! MITIC'S HOLE IS IN DANGER

The Secretariat for Urban Planning and Construction Affairs of the City Administration of the City of Belgrade sent the Elaborate for early public inspection for the purposes of preparation Detailed regulation plan blocks between the streets: Kralja Milana, Beogradska, Njegoševa and Svetozar Markovića, City Municipality of Vračar (marked in the picture above), i.e. the area that includes the entire park known as Mitićeva rupa and the block next to which, among other things, the Hilton hotel is located.
It is inadmissible that the urban planning and overall urban development of the city to this extent and limits is guided by the market and capitalist logic of planning and use of space! Public green areas, and all other forms of green areas are not and must not be seen and treated as empty/free/unused/unrealized areas in the city, which need to be privatized and commercial facilities built on them so that investors would profit at the expense of the green areas that belong to us, the citizens of Belgrade.

It is inadmissible in the context of numerous development problems of the city (dominantly in the context of excessive air pollution and climate change, as well as an unsustainable traffic model in the city) the existing public green area located on public land should be repurposed into commercial facilities, and after the adoption of this plan, the same public area should be privatized!
We demand that publicly owned land remain publicly owned and that the plan envisages public purposes on it, i.e. existing public purpose - public green area (public city park).

Early public preview is ongoing until Monday March 29. In order to help citizens better understand what is being planned in our city, we wrote 5 versions of remarks which you can download and send in your name to the Secretariat for Urban Planning and Construction Affairs. All objections are different and rely on different parts of the detailed regulation plan, but they have the same goal - to save the park!

Due to the current epidemiological situation, we recommend that you send objections by mail (to the address: Secretariat for Urban Planning and Construction Affairs; Kraljice Marije No. 1; 11000 Belgrade) because it is the surest way to ensure that your position is heard, since the city administration has not yet clarified what exactly happens with the objections that are left in the box located in the secretariat hall. If you are sending objections as a group, it is important to print a copy for each person, but you can pack them all in the same envelope and send them that way.
