AWARD OF THE MONTENEGRO SALON OF ARCHITECTURE

Bearing in mind the current epidemiological situation, the Organizational team of the Salon decided to present the works received at this Salon through an online exhibition, during the transmission from the Collector.

The program was designed and implemented thanks to the Organizational team of the Salon, consisting of Ema Alihodžić Jašarović and Andrijana Pavićević, and the production team of the Platform 081 collective. The jury of the Fourth Montenegrin Architecture Salon - Grozdana Šišović (Serbia), Davor Mateković (Croatia), Branislav Mitrović (Serbia), Marko Brajović (Brazil) and Ivan Milošević (Montenegro) awarded the prize to the book in the PUBLICATIONS category Spaces of commoning: Urban commons in the EX - YU region, which we wrote together with colleagues from Kotor (Expeditio) and Pristina (Termokiss). The author's team consists of Iva Čukić, Jovana Timotijević, Bozena Stojić, Njozma Dragusha, Orbis Rexha, Sonja Dragović and Tatjana Rajić.

This study provides an overview of classical and critical definitions of the commons, as well as a theoretical framework for the urban commons and an interpretive perspective through the struggles and practices of the commons, followed by concrete case studies in the ex-YU region. During the period of writing and preparing this publication, we were constantly haunted by self-reflection and our own repeated questioning of the methods we used and the results of our efforts. Such a problematic process never really seems to stop, as it exists in the ever-present search for more radical change. Therefore, we see this publication as only an overview of this particular moment and context, while our struggles to create and sustain more just spaces and communities – struggles that are always accompanied by constant reflection – have already gone beyond these pages.
